Periodontal Aesthetic Surgery

Periodontal plastic surgery refers to corrective procedures to the gums. Often this intervention is necessary to improve the aesthetics of your smile, correct the quality of the gum cuff around your teeth or implant, in cases of severe gum shrinkage, sensitivity or other dental problems. ‘Plastic’ refers to reshaping the gum tissues to restore form and function. This type of surgery is highly specialised and makes use of microsurgical techniques.

Mucogingival Surgery

Mucogingival surgery can be undertaken to increase keratinised tissue and root coverage.

Crown Lengthening

Sometimes exposing more of the tooth is necessary to place fillings or crowns because the tooth is too short or to expose more of the tooth to reduce a gummy smile.
