Implant replacement of missing teeth has been around for over 50 years and is increasingly being used to replace teeth and provide an alternative to dentures and bridges. Implants can be a great treatment option. It is important to note however that Dr. Kendall does not always consider implants as the only solution. Dr. Kendall has patients referred to her where an implant has not been successful and believes patients should be aware prior to procedure that implants can have significant complications.
It is important to recognise that the susceptibility you have to periodontitis also makes you more susceptible to infections of the implant “gums” so regular maintenance and check-ups are important. Ensuring your long term periodontal and implant gum health and keeping your teeth is of primary concern to Dr. Kendall.
